Tapestry Weaving on a Little Loom

In this 3hr class, students will learn essential traditional tapestry weaving techniques like tabby weave, colour blending, and creating shapes.

This class comes with a take-home kit so you can continue weaving at home!

Foundations of Tapestry Weaving - 2SLGBTQIA

This five-week course is open to folks who self-identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA community. It is low-fee/sliding scale to reduce barriers to participation and there are 6 spots available.

Students will learn all the foundational skills of tapestry weaving, including tabby weave, flat weave texture techniques, shapes, and 3-dimensional texture techniques.

Foundations of Tapestry Weaving - 55+

This low-barrier five-week course with Silver Threads is for folks aged 55+.

Students will learn all the foundational skills of tapestry weaving, including tabby weave, flat weave texture techniques, shapes, and 3-dimensional texture techniques.

Circular Weaving

In this fun, easy 3hr workshop, students will learn how to “weave in the round” on a circular hoop. This class is a great way to learn some of the essential techniques of tapestry weaving and take home a fun, attractive project.

All materials will be provided, students ages 10+ are welcome.

Tapestry Weaving Level II:

Abstract Creative Play

Build on your tapestry skills in this five-week course designed to develop familiarity with the many different materials that can be used in tapestry weaving! Students will learn colour theory, design, and texture techniques for contemporary tapestry.

Students must have some prior tapestry experience, including how to warp a loom and tabby weave. You are welcome to bring your own loom or use a provided loom. Students will have the option of paying a loom rental fee if they wish to take their projects home between classes.
